You have booked your stay, the excitement is building, but now the suitcase is open on the bed and you are stuck. If you are used to hotels, camping can feel daunting. If you are used to wild camping, glamping might feel like you have too much space!
The beauty of glamping—especially at Three Fields—is that we provide a lot of the heavy lifting. However, the Welsh countryside is a wild and wonderful place, and having the right kit ensures you stay comfortable, warm, and happy.
Here is our comprehensive guide on what to pack for glamping in Pembrokeshire.
1. The "Welsh Weather" Wardrobe
Pembrokeshire is famous for its lush green grass, and that stays green for a reason! The weather here can be four seasons in one day.
Waterproofs: Even if the forecast says sun, bring a lightweight rain jacket. It’s essential for coastal walks where the sea spray meets the breeze.
Layers, Layers, Layers: Mornings can be crisp and afternoons sunny. Pack t-shirts, light jumpers, and a fleece.
Warm Socks: There is nothing better than fresh, warm socks after a day on the beach.
Swimwear: Whether you are hitting Barafundle Bay or hiring our private hot tub, don't leave your swimmers behind!
2. Footwear for Every Occasion
Shoes take up space, so choose wisely. We recommend the "Holy Trinity" of glamping footwear:
Walking Boots/Sturdy Trainers: For exploring the 186 miles of Pembrokeshire Coast Path.
Slip-on Shoes (Crocs/Sliders): These are a lifesaver. When you need to nip from your tent or Kiki to your private toilet facilities, you don't want to be lacing up boots.
Flip Flops: For the beach or the showers.
3. The Kitchen & Fire Pit Kit
While our glamping units like Kiki come fully equipped, and our campervan pitches are spacious, there are a few consumables you should definitely bring to elevate the experience.
Marshmallows & Skewers: Every pitch at Three Fields has a fire pit. A glamping trip isn't complete without s'mores.
Refillable Water Bottle: Essential for days out.
Cool Box/Bag: If you are in a tent pitch, this is handy for keeping your milk and BBQ meat fresh (though Kiki has a fridge!).
A Good Mugg: We provide crockery in our glamping units, but if you are pitching up your own tent, bring your favourite sturdy mug for that morning coffee from The Silly Goose.
4. Creature Comforts & Toiletries
We pride ourselves on our luxury private facilities (your own toilet and shower!), so you can leave the trowel at home.
Toiletries: We recommend eco-friendly soaps and shampoos to help protect our beautiful 15-acre site.
Towels: While we provide linens for our glamping accommodation, it’s always wise to bring an extra "beach towel" for outdoor use or hot tub sessions.
A Head Torch: Our skies are wonderfully dark, which is perfect for stargazing but tricky for finding snacks at midnight. A head torch keeps your hands free.
5. Entertainment (Unplugged)
We have Wi-Fi on site, so you can stream Netflix if you wish. However, many guests use their stay to disconnect.
Board Games & Cards: Perfect for a rainy afternoon.
Binoculars: We have an abundance of wildlife, from birds of prey to rabbits.
A Good Book: There is no better reading nook than a deck chair overlooking the rolling Pembrokeshire hills.
Summary:
Knowing what to pack for glamping in Pembrokeshire is mostly about preparing for the elements and maximizing comfort. The golden rule? Pack for comfort, not style. The sheep in the neighbouring field won't judge your mismatched socks!
We can't wait to welcome you to Three Fields. Pack smart, drive safe, and get ready to relax.
